In today’s advertising market, there are many opportunities for small publishers to sell their ad inventory or to purchase placement across a variety of websites, but this wasn’t always the case. As an early web publisher in the pre .com bomb era of the late 1990s and early 2000s, I recall limited number of ad networks, many of which were proud of their exclusive dealings with large corporations only.
